The D400 IS unit utilizes the standard NEMA 4X housing but meets FM, CSA, Atex, and IECEx approvals for Intrinsically Safe applications. The various approvals are listed in the Approvals Technical document link below. Product performance specifications would be identical to the standard D400, but the many lists of IS approvals offer a real benefit to meet specific area classifications and are less expensive than a full EX rated product.
